THE CHANTRY

Behind the modern front of 99 High Street now occupied by Cafe Uno is part of the oldest building in Marlborough, St. Katherines Chantry, built around the 15th Century , one of the few buildings that survived the great fire in 1653 that destroyed 250 dwelling houses, shops, taverns, the Guildhall and St. Marys Church in about four hours.
