The lower picture was taken in the 1890's of the old Town Hall, a new town Hall replaced it in 1902 , the small building in the middle of the street was a weigh bridge.

HIGH STREET
WEST

Saint Peters Church still stands at the end of the High Street, although it is now a Craft Shop.
Marlborough College is behind the Church. Most of the buildings are still recognizable after 100 years, but some on the left hand side were destroyed by fire.

POLLY TEA ROOMS

The famous Polly Tea Rooms, the top two floors were destroyed by fire in 1966, as it is the only single storey building in the High Street now, it does tend to catch the eye.
